Meet The DJ: Kayla

I found Yes Fm as a teenager and began working there as an intern in 2013 when I was
finishing my bachelors degree . It came at the right time of my life - I always say God
put me there because  I was feeling defeated with public speaking . I took a break from
working at the station a couple years ago , during the time away I spent the years
researching Christian music to present at academic Popular Culture conferences and
 people who were not Christians there were fascinated by the music and really engaged
in the conversation about it. I felt God pulling me to come back to the ministry of Yes FM
because the station is truly doing God’s work in such a unique music format and unique
ministry . 

When I’m not working for Yes FM , I assume the roles of an Adjunct Professor in the
Cultural and Critical Studies program at Bowling Green State University, and as an
Employment Specialist for a local nonprofit where I support people with disabilities in
their job search for community employment .  I am a previous owner of a retro video
game store - so I also spend a lot of my free time participating in the retro video game
collecting subculture.
